It’s only taken me 6 months to do it – here is the video blog mum and I filmed as we ran the Edinburgh Marathon in May 2013.
We ran to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Care, a wonderful charity who helped a friend through the last few months of his life and whose support was invaluable.
And of course it was a bloody good reason to paint our nails green.

At this point both our batteries and our phone batteries died about 6 miles from the finish; we ended up in an out and out race against the sweeper bus which was picking up people going too slowly. A race which we lost, as the driver poked her head out of the window to see if we were OK then cheerfully drove off. By the time we reached the finish we were broken, in floods of tears and convinced we wouldn’t get our medals…
…we did though 🙂 4 minutes inside the cutoff. Oh yeah.
